The Rosa Plaster Chandelier is a centrepiece light sculpture, which marries the historic decorative and symbolic traditions of the rose and the shell, with the spirit of surrealism.
Martin's surrealist sculptural tribute to the enduring appeal of the rose takes on a surreal form, as the shapes blend and intertwine, suggestive of both petals and shells.
Both the traditional rose and shell motifs have been a longstanding inspiration in English decoration and design for centuries, and take on a new energy and form in Martin's contemporary hand sculpted chandelier. The bespoke ceiling rose reflects the shape of the chandelier.
The centrepiece rose bowl is divided into three curved petal like parts. Each unique piece is handbuilt, with a contoured form and sculpted texture which captures the movement and energy of nature.
Each Rosa plaster chandelier is handcrafted to order at our Sussex studio, and can be suspended on either custom length plaster rods, or chain.
